It’s seven years since my childhood friend and fellow Limey, Ingrid Copperman, died from ovarian cancer. She didn’t have any significant symptoms, although she did know her body well enough to know something was wrong, and had the tenacity to stand up to her GP’s initial dismissal. Unfortunately, for Ingrid the cancer had already spread and would become terminal. But my goodness, did she pack a lifetime of memories into the short time she had left.
One of her legacies was the incredible support she gave back to the charities that also supported her and her family – including Target Ovarian Cancer. That is why this January I decided to join their Target 50 mile challenge. My four legged best friend, Buddy and I put our best feet (and paws) forward and through snow, ice and rain smashed our goal – clocking up almost 120 miles.
If you would like to know more about the work of Target Ovarian Cancer and vitally, the symptoms – please visit their website, as early detection could literally save your life.
It’s also not too late to sponsor me at SocialSync.
